What needs a subscription, and what doesn't?
Research, the mobile app, cloud chat, backups, push, and updates need Charyl Cloud. Everything else — inventory, devices, manuals, Home Records — works without it, in the web app.
Needs Charyl Cloud: product research; camera live view in the mobile app, at home or away (the web app’s live view on your home network is never gated); Charyl’s chat; automatic encrypted cloud backups; the mobile app, which reaches your home only through our relay (a home is set up on it when it connects to Charyl Cloud); mobile push notifications; and automatic, health-checked updates with rollback.
Works without it: everything else — your inventory, warranties, and maintenance records; manuals and documents Charyl can already read; Home Records; device control and dashboards; sensors; memory; and camera live view in the web app on your home network.
