What are Home Records?

The place for your home’s paperwork — insurance, HOA rules, deed, mortgage, permits — searchable and cited, free for every home.

Home Records sit alongside your appliance inventory but cover a different kind of document: the ones about the property itself rather than a specific thing in it. Insurance policies, HOA covenants, your deed and survey, mortgage paperwork, building permits, builder or home warranties, and tax records all fit here, filed under a fixed set of categories plus a catch-all “Other.” It’s included for every home — not something you need a paid add-on to use.

Once something is filed, you can ask Charyl about it directly — “what’s my hurricane deductible,” “when does my flood policy renew” — and she’ll answer cited to the actual title and page, the same way she does with appliance manuals.

To add one, attach a document in chat and tell her what it is; she’ll file it as a new Home Record once you confirm. If she pulled a detail wrong — a renewal date read as an expiration, say — tell her the correction and she’ll fix that field directly.
