How does Charyl find and use manuals?

She answers from the manuals attached to your own appliances and cites the page — she doesn't hand out a library of manuals.

She answers from the manuals attached to your own appliances and cites the page — she doesn’t hand out a library of manuals to browse.

When an appliance has a manual on file, ask her anything about it in plain language (“what does error code F02 mean on my washer?”) and she’ll answer from that document, pointing to the page it came from rather than guessing. If nothing’s attached yet, she can often find and attach the right manual herself, with Charyl Cloud. Some brands refuse automated downloads outright; for those, she’ll walk you through getting your own copy in a couple of clicks rather than pretending she can reach it. You can also attach a manual or any PDF yourself, directly in chat.

If she comes up empty on something you know is attached, that usually means the phrasing didn’t match closely enough — try asking a different way before assuming the document isn’t indexed. See troubleshooting a missing document for more.
