Can Singer Intelligent Homes read my data?
Your backups, no — we hold ciphertext, not the key. Chat that reaches a cloud AI provider is seen by that provider to answer you, de-identified, never as content by us.
Short answer, broken down by the few places your data actually goes.
Home backups: no. They’re encrypted inside your house before they ever leave it, with a key only you hold. Our servers store ciphertext — we can hand it back, we can’t open it.
Chat, when it uses a cloud AI provider: the provider sees your question, in order to answer it, but not you — requests are de-identified, so it’s a prompt, not a person, and the provider is contractually barred from training on it.
Remote access, through your phone or the web: this is a convenience, not a confidentiality guarantee — traffic is encrypted in transit, but we don’t market it as something we can’t see.
Records you mark private: Charyl can see that one exists, not what’s inside it, unless you open it up yourself.
One honest line
Where we can’t make a claim in cryptography, we make it in writing instead — and we say which is which.
Every change Charyl makes to your home also lands in an audit trail you can read — see is there a record of what Charyl changed?
