What sensors does Charyl understand?

Sensor nodes around your home report temperature, humidity, pressure, ambient light, and presence — and Charyl can answer questions about all five in plain conversation. “What was the average kitchen temperature today?” or “has anyone been in the garage in the last hour?” both resolve to a real reading, summarized in her answer.

She works from summaries, not raw feeds — she’ll tell you an average, a range, or whether a space registered presence, rather than a stream of numbers. If you want to watch a trend over time, that’s what the dashboard sensor cards are for: sparklines and charts live there, not inline in a chat reply.

Sensor nodes are counted separately from smart-home devices like lights and switches, so a question about a device (“is the porch light on”) and a question about a sensor (“what’s the humidity in the basement”) are answered from two different sources behind the scenes — you don’t need to know that to ask either one, but it’s why she sometimes needs a moment to find the right one.
