What do notifications say on my lock screen?
It depends who sent it — Charyl's own pushes stay generic on purpose, but a device rule you wrote yourself names the device, because you already know what it's about.
This depends on who’s behind the notification, and the difference is deliberate.
Anything Charyl herself sends you — a finished proposal, a warranty worth a look, a research result — says only that something’s ready to open the app to review. It never names the asset, the amount, or what went wrong on your lock screen. That’s a privacy choice, not an oversight: a phone glanced at on a counter shouldn’t hand over what’s in your inventory to whoever’s standing nearby.
A notification rule you set up yourself is different. If you told the Devices tab “let me know when the garage door opens,” that push does name the device — because you’re the one who wrote the rule, and the whole point was to see it at a glance.
One isn't a bug in the other
If you notice Charyl’s own pushes are vaguer than a device rule you wrote, that’s both working as intended — they’re built to different rules on purpose.
