Can I use the app when I'm away from home?

Yes. Once your phone is paired, it works away from home the same way it does on your own network — chat, your inventory, notifications, all of it. Your phone reaches your home only through Charyl Cloud’s relay, at home or away, and your home is set up on it when you connect it to Charyl Cloud. After that there’s no port forwarding, no static IP, no router settings to change, and nothing to set up beyond pairing itself.

The one thing that’s treated differently is live camera viewing. In the mobile app, camera live view is part of the Charyl Cloud subscription, at home or away, because the app always goes through the relay. On your home network, the web app’s live view is free. In the app, rather than cutting you off if a day runs unusually heavy, it steps down to snapshots instead of a dead tile.
