What happens after the first year?

The homeowner decides — if they continue, it's their own Charyl Cloud subscription, and you're never billed for it.

The choice moves to the homeowner. The first year of Charyl’s subscription is included with the home at closing, so the buyer starts out with everything working; when that year is up, they decide for themselves whether to continue on their own Charyl Cloud subscription.

You’re never billed for that decision either way. Nothing in the program ties your company to an ongoing cost tied to how long a homeowner keeps their subscription after closing, and nothing requires you to collect payment or manage the renewal on our behalf.

If a homeowner chooses not to continue, the rest of the platform — their inventory, their records, the app itself — keeps working. What lapses is specifically the parts that depend on the subscription, like Charyl’s cloud-side research and chat.

This is the program’s intended design rather than a signed contract term you’d see today, since we’re still in pilot — see What is the Charyl builder program? for the fuller honesty about where things stand.
