Is there a Windows installer?
Not yet — a no-Docker Windows installer is designed but not built; self-hosting today means a Linux machine.
Not yet. A native installer for Windows — no Docker required — is designed but not built, and there’s no date for it.
Today, running Charyl on a Windows PC means either self-hosting on a Linux machine (a virtual machine works) or waiting for the box.
Separately, our invited early-access testers receive a one-line setup for Windows machines that already have Docker installed — a temporary, cohort-only mechanism, not a public download, and not the Windows installer described above. If you’re not part of that testing cohort, it isn’t available to you yet.
The design for the real installer is already worked out — a signed package, no separate database to install by hand, everything running as ordinary Windows services in the background. It’s simply not built yet, and there’s no committed date.
