Can I unlock the app with Face ID or a fingerprint?
Yes — biometric unlock is a quick, local gate on top of your already-signed-in session. It doesn't change how you sign in to your home in the first place.
Face ID, Touch ID, or your Android phone’s fingerprint reader can stand in for re-entering your password every time you open the app. Turn it on in Settings, and the next time you open the app it checks with your phone’s own biometric system before letting you in.
This sits entirely on your phone — it’s a local gate in front of a session that’s already signed in, not a new way of proving who you are to your home. Signing in itself still works the way it always has; biometric unlock just saves you from typing a password every time you pick your phone back up.
early access Biometric unlock is built and available to invited testers. If your phone doesn’t have Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint sensor set up, the app falls back to your password as usual.
